What does Back-to-School Mean to You and Your Family?

Back-to-School is one of the biggest seasons for us as a leading publisher for educational resources. Our Marketing department faces the same question every year: What do parents need and when do they actually need it? The Educational sector is changing rapidly, and we can imagine that is it very hard for parents to keep up – it is even for us! 

We wanted to hear what the Back-to-School season means among families, so we decided to ask the parents within our very own Pascal Press office, in every department! Rest assured, these responses are honest and real – not salesy or made up! So, find out whether the Pascal Press team love and recommend our resources just as much as our loyal Pascal Press members. From whom better to hear that than from people who create the books!

How is or was the Back-to-School season for you and your children?

"For older high school students, always wanting to make sure they get everything they need for their chosen subjects. Having the right resources gives a lot of confidence for a new school year."

How did you use the Pascal Press Resources, how did it help, and why would you recommend it to parents?

"The Excel titles are great for reference books, doing some extra study and particularly for practising exam questions – takes some of the stress out of exam season!"

"Hectic with the excitement of kids getting back into a routine. Opportunity to start fresh and make new friends."

How did you use the Pascal Press Resources, how did it help, and why would you recommend it to parents?

While I left the classroom teaching to the experienced teachers, it was always great to have curriculum-aligned resources for extra learning at home and during holidays.

The Targeting series is always a lot of fun for at-home learning!

How is or was the Back-to-School season for you and your children?

"Hectic and relief. I found I was running around last-minute getting school supplies. The kids were excited knowing they will be seeing their friends again. As parents, we are happy to have a routine back."

How did you use the Pascal Press Resources, how did it help, and why would you recommend it to parents?

"Some of the school textbooks were from Pascal/Blake Education range. My kids found these books easy to use and understand. I also invested in them to use at home during school holidays. I found my kids were able to work on them alone so I’m assuming the exercises were self-explanatory and easy to follow."

How is or was the Back-to-School season for you and your children?

"Back-to-School for my kids was easy. They attended the local public schools, and the books were handed to students once school fees were paid."

How did you use the Pascal Press Resources, how did it help, and why would you recommend it to parents?

"Both of my girls used Targeting Handwriting through primary school and the prescribed text in years 7-12. Occasionally they turned to an Excel book for Maths or Science (when they were stressed) until Years 11 & 12 when they heavily relied on the Excel Study Guides."

"Jania's comment once was "I've learnt more from this Maths book than I have from class all year!" There was a dud substitute teacher and Excel saved her for Year 11 and half-yearly exams."

"Usually, it’s mostly relaxation with a bit of schoolwork. My son is fourteen."

How did you use the Pascal Press Resources, how did it help, and why would you recommend it to parents?

"I have found in the past the Excel Basic Skills Years 5-6 Creative Writing Workbook and the Excel Years 5-8 Writer’s Handbook absolutely fantastic books to support my son in his writing.

They are very practical, skill-based workbooks and very methodical in their approach. I definitely recommend them to other parents. The great thing about them is that they are also so user-friendly to use as your child fills his or her answers in the book and you just mark them!"
