With our ‘better ways to learn’ mission, we strive to build a sound education for students in KPrep – Year 12 and have found social media to be a great platform for our customers to share tips, feedback and their thoughts. Below are a handful of amazing reviews from some of our favourite primary and secondary school teachers!

Excel Basic Skills

This great review comes from a Year 6 Teacher named Jaimee who uses our English and Mathematics workbooks from the Excel Basic Skills range.

This series provides students with the opportunity to practise and consolidate their basic skills in a write-in workbook format. With over 75 books in the series, students from K/F to Year 6 will be able to thoroughly cover the English, Mathematics and Science and Technology curriculum.

With a wide variety of interesting exercises, Excel Basic Skills workbooks are perfect to use when revising and studying at home!

Targeting HASS Activity Book

Rachel is another Year 6 Teacher and has provided useful feedback on the Targeting HASS Year 6 activity book.

The Targeting HASS Activity Books are chock full of fascinating and interesting facts and snippets from a huge variety of primary sources that have been carefully selected to engage students in years 3 – 6. The term HASS refers to the Australian Humanities and Social Science curriculum which covers History, Geography, Civics and Citizenship and Economics & Business.

Each book contains 32 double-page units featuring an illustrated stimulus text chosen to support the curriculum inquiry questions. Students’ analysis, understanding and inquiry skills are tested by a broad range of questions and activities in Researching, Questioning, Analysing, Evaluating and reflecting and Communicating.

“I am constantly on the lookout for good Geography resources and I’ve found an EXCELLENT one” Rachel Waddell, Primary Teacher

Blake's Math Guides

Sonia is a primary pre-service teacher and shares her experience with our Blake’s Guides, from the Maths range. They are an essential reference for anyone wanting a basic understanding of the Australian Mathematics Curriculum.

Miss Baroi claims Blake’s Maths Guides are “easy to read” with great visual references to “help reinforce understanding of Maths topics”.

Blake’s Guides are a comprehensive series of study guides for primary school students aged between 7 – 12 years. It covers a range of subjects including English, Maths, Science and History, and NAPLAN* concepts.

Each book has fun TRY THIS activities for students to test their understanding, and make it fun and engaging.

“Parents would love this as a tool to reference for home-schooling and to see where their child's understanding is at or even for extra help for their studies.” Sonia Baroi, Primary Teacher Pre-Service Teacher

Targeting STEM Journal

A second review from Rachel, on one of our brand new Targeting STEM Journals. These resources are an exciting combination of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It provides 42 projects for students to work on independently or in groups using a range of commonly available resources. Each project contains four steps with a picture list of requirements and just enough explanation for launching students on their journeys of discovery.

Each project includes a journal page with space to write about the project and sketch out ideas, charts to complete with data from the experiments, more step-by-steps to take the project further, interesting facts and trivia about the subject and questions to extend thinking. All the units cover curriculum content for several subject areas, including Digital Technologies. A table with the ACARA code correlations is on the inside cover.

“The thing I love is how well this resource has linked into our current curriculum. This is a really creative activity the kids will love.” Rachel Waddell, Primary Teacher
